Kelton Shinde (100 Mile House Wranglers), Lucas Gartner (Beaver Valley Nitehawks) and Levi Hall (Fernie Ghostriders) have been selected the Hudl Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending Jan. 21/24.
Shinde – Top Forward – The Terrace product had a goal and three assists in the Wranglers’ 5-4 shootout loss to the Kamloops Storm. Shinde’s goal with 30 seconds remaining in regulation time forced the game into extra time and helped the Wranglers earn a point. Shinde is second on the Wranglers with 24 points in 35 games.
Gartner – Top Defenceman – The Calgary product had two goals and two assists in two games to help the Nitehawks earn a 5-1 win over the Columbia Valley Rockies and a 6-2 victory over the Chase Heat. Gartner scored and assisted on the winning goal against the Rockies. He had another one goal, one assist performance against the Heat. Gartner leads the Nitehawks blueline with 23 points in 34 games.
Hall – Top Goalie – The Stony Plain, Alta., product went 1-0-1 in two games as he stopped 31 of 34 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Sicamous Eagles. Hall then stopped 44 of 46 shots in a 3-2 overtime win over the Revelstoke Grizzlies. In the two games, Hall had a 2.39 goals against average and .938 save percentage. In 19 games with the Rockets and Ghostriders, Hall is 7-7-2 with a 3.46 GAA and .906 SP. Since joining the Ghostriders, Hall is 3-0-2 with a 2.90 GAA and a .921 SP.
