Garcha, Reber & Phillips-Watts named KIJHL 3 Stars

 

 

Anmol Garcha (Princeton Posse), Cade Reber (Beaver Valley Nitehawks) and Colton Phillips-Watts (Kamloops Storm) have been selected as the Hudl Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending, Oct. 22.

Garcha – Top Forward – The Sherwood Park, Alberta product helped the Posse win its weekend games by netting the winners. Against the Nelson Leafs on Oct. 20, Garcha gave the Posse a 3-1 lead and collected two assists. Against the North Okanagan Knights on Oct. 21, which they won 4-3 in a shootout, Garcha assisted on the opening goal, scored the tying 2-2 goal and scored the shootout winner. Garcha leads the Posse with 16 points in 10 games, which ranks him seventh in the KIJHL.

Reber – Top Defenceman – The Valleyview, Alberta product had a goal and two assists over the weekend, as the Nitehawks defeated the Spokane Braves and lost to the Castlegar Rebels. Against the Braves on Oct. 20, Reber scored the winner and added an assist in an 8-0 win. In a 2-1 loss to the Rebels on Oct. 21, Reber assisted on Kaleb Percival’s goal. In nine games, Reber has two goals and seven points.

Phillips-Watts- Top Goalie- The Quesnel product helped the Storm pick up a pair of wins against the Fernie Ghostriders and Sicamous Eagles. Against Fernie on Oct. 20, Phillips-Watts stopped 28 of 30 shots in a 6-2 win. He earned his first shutout of the season in a 3-0 final against the Eagles on Oct.21  making 21 saves. He stopped 49 of 51 total shots for a .961 save percentage. With the wins, Phillips-Watts improved his record to 5-1-0 with a .924 SP and a 1.96 GAA.
