Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Week: March 6

 

Campbell Mclean of the Creston Valley Thunder Cats, Brennan Wilson of the Beaver Valley Nitehawks and Jack Osmond of the Chase Heat have been selected the Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending March 6.

McLean – Top Forward – The Whitecourt, Alberta product scored five goals and added three assists in three games, including two game-winning goals as he helped the Thunder Cats force a Game 7 against the Nitehawks. In a 5-3 win on Feb. 28, McLean had three goals, including the winner and an assist. He collected a goal and an assist in the next two games. In seven playoff games, McLean finished with seven goals and 13 points, ranking him third among KIJHL point producers.

Wilson – Top Defenceman – The Grande Prairie, Alberta product had three goals and three assists in five games, including a game-winning goal. After helping the Nitehawks knock out the Thunder Cats in the first round, Wilson netted two goals, including the winner to even their series with the Nelson Leafs at one. In nine playoff games, Wilson has four goals and seven assists for 11 points, which ranks him first among all KIJHL defencemen.

Osmond – Top Goalie – The Edmonton, Alberta product helped the Heat force a Game 7 against the Kamloops Storm by winning two of his last three games. Osmond turned aside 49 of 51 shots on Feb. 28, then 58 of 60 shots in a 3-2 triple overtime loss in Game 7. In total, he made 136 saves on 140 shots for a .971 SP and a 1.03 GAA. In seven playoff games, Osmond won three and had a .936 SP with a 2.17 GAA.
