Bablitz, Percival and Trzaska named Instat KIJHL 3 Stars

 

 

Brayden Bablitz (Princeton Posse), Kaleb Percival (Beaver Valley Nitehawks) and Peyton Trzaska (Princeton Posse) have been selected the Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending March 5.

Bablitz – Top Forward – The Sherwood Park, Alberta product scored three goals and added an assist in two games to help the Posse take a 2-0 series lead over the North Okanagan Knights. In Game 1, Bablitz netted the overtime winner and in Game 2, he assisted on the insurance tally and added two goals in a 4-0 Posse win. In six Teck Cup playoff games, Bablitz has four goals and five assists and his nine points are tied for second on the team.

Percival – Top Defenceman – The Nelson product had three assists in two games as the Nitehawks earned a split in their first two games against the Creston Valley Thunder Cats. Percival assisted on the 1-1 goal in their 4-3 loss, then he assisted on the winning goal as well as the insurance goal in a 4-1 Nitehawks win. In eight games, Percival has two goals and 11 points, which ranks him second on the Nitehawks. He leads all KIJHL defencemen in playoff points. It’s the second straight week that Percival has been selected the Top Defenceman.

Trzaska – Top Goalie – The Drayton Valley, Alberta product won both his starts for the Posse, helping them take a 2-0 series lead against North Okanagan. In the two games combined, he stopped 56 of 58 shots for a 0.99 goals against average and a .966 save percentage. He earned a 27-save shutout against North Okanagan in Game 2. Trzaska is undefeated at 4-0 with a 1.62 GAA and a .944 SP. His SP ranks third in the league, while his GAA is fourth.
